First, I have been very disappointed in Bush. So I started looking for an alternative. Of course, I had no choice in picking the Democratic Party's candidate.

As time has passed, Kerry has grown on me. I think he is more open than Bush and he has a history of working with GOP Senators that I respect (Lugar, Hagel, McCain, etc.). I also think Kerry is more thoughtful than Bush and more willing to listen to different views.

With Iraq, "Under New Management" will be helpful. We need to find a way to bring in help, and obviously that will not happen with Bush. Kerry has a better chance to make progress.

I also think Kerry will stay focused on the perpetrators of 9/11 (I believe Bush lost focus).

For the economy, Kerry has been much more honest than Bush about the problems our Country faces (Budget deficit, trade deficit, trade issues, health care, energy / environment). I've written before that I like several of Kerry's proposals.

The bottom line is I would rather take my chances with someone I think will be fine (Kerry) than give a 2nd term to someone I know will fail (Bush).
