I've been around since 1996. My posting has becomee limited, however my reading is regular, I used the portfolio feature, and the old formats.

The idea that tiny is effective will prove to be a trendy concept. Squeeding so much on a screen that it is hard to read is something that the print media learned was unproductive a long time ago.

I urge you to consider an option that is as clean as the old SI format ( is that now the VERY OLD SI Format??)

If you wanted to increase revenues you could have dropped adds on us, could have asked us to click on them. I don't know what your revenue option are. Nor do I really understand what kind of work load is created by maintaining old code on a site like ths. One thing is for sure, you will lose a lot of users in the coming weeks.

You may be left with the high number posters, but I bet a lot of long term low level posters will drop away. Don't mistake the chatter for the quality. SI may be sigmificantly impacted when people cease to stop by, read a few threads, and post occasionally. Many of these people are crucial to the quality of the threads. I think you have made such activity more difficult.

I find this new setup unreadable, unintelligible, and simply unremarkable.

Most Important, you have in the past been most kind in telling us of any impending changes or down time. This time it came without warning. Not allowing long term users to at least capture their portfolios seems to me the height of disrespect for the user. That may not have been your particular responsibility, but you evidently have some authority over those who perpetrated this insult on the vast majority of users.

I'd like to see you make money at this. But I'm not sticking around if the site is not readable, and lacks the features that have made it a great tool.

Best of luck, its been a very nice 8 years.
