Helix Technology Corporation (HELX - $13.23 - BUY)

HELX Valuation Remains Attractive, In Our View, Despite Recent Evidence Of
Near-Term Industry Slowdown; Maintain BUY Rating, But Lower Target To $21 (From
$22)

Our new price target of $21 is based on 14x our revised 2005 operating EPS of
$1.27 (down from $1.39), plus $3 per share in projected cash.

We do not view the apparent 3Q:04 semiconductor industry slowdown as an
indication of an impending cyclical downturn.

However, given recent evidence of slowing industry growth, we lower our 2004
and 2005 revenue estimates to $175 million (from $180 million) and $208 million
(from $218 million), respectively.

In our opinion, HELX shares are attractively valued given the company’s solid
cash position ($2.75 per share) and strong cash flow.
