I'm glad to hear New Zealand has cut down on drink driving.

I haven't spent much time there since 1997, but the casual attitude toward drinking and driving I saw while living there was different to anything I've seen anywhere else in the world. Just shocking to me.

I met one 24 year old at a dinner in Christchurch who had a glass eye, various metal plates and artificial joints as a result of his seven automobile accidents!

I left too soon to see, first-hand, the election of Georgina Beyer as MP from Wairarapa. She has exactly the sort of energy, drive and outsider perspective to shake up the "old boy's club" that has run New Zealand for so long.
