<<<If I were George W. Bush, I'd be perfectly happy to go back to Crawford, Texas, and go on to the next phase of my life.>>>

Yes, that would be nice. He could spend more time rooting for the Texas Rangers. They are not that far away from winning a baseball World Series. Perhaps he could become an advisor - or consultant. Better yet, he could become Commissioner of Baseball. There has not been much leadership in baseball since Bart Giamatti died. Perhaps with Bush's strong leadership, baseball could become a more global presence - and he wouldn't have to worry about France or Germany for that matter - I don't think baseball will ever catch on over there anyhow.

Meanwhile the WOT has to be fought with more attention to detail. It is a long and difficult task. No matter what anybody thinks, we have only a finite amount of money that we can spend on WOT. We can not afford many more mistakes like getting into Iraq without a way to get out. $200 Billion (and counting) here, $200 Billion there, pretty soon that is going to add up to some real serious dollars.

Don't businesses go out of business because they invest in the wrong stuff. Doesn't that happen to countries too?

But, baseball is a protected monopoly. It can't happen to baseball.
