Roe, I'm sorry, but like your candidate, anyone who reads my rants has to first sign a loyalty oath and swear to support all my points. <VBG>
1. The Wingnuts have certainly demonized the UN, which has always been a place for blowing off steam verbally rather than going to war like real men. They are wrong, but you are right in that Americans may be too ignorant to know any better. They also may not be able to read anything but cue cards, like our leader.
2. A reasonable response to the 9/11 attacks, if you were incompetent enough to allow them to happen in the first place, would be to go after the folks who did the deed and those who supported them. Bush started out that way in Afghanistan, then decided to cook up some fake stories on Saddam and divert our troops and money to a personal grudge.
3. Yes, you put a capital T in The United States or The United Nations are The Ku Klux Klan or The Boy Scouts of America. Why does that cause you heartburn?
4. The terrorists, of course, support the incompetent for President, which is why they will hold off new attacks on the USA until after the election. And it was also why they held their attacks on US soil until we had a bumblef*** in The White House.
5. Not everyone who disagrees with me is a foaming at the mouth neocon. Some decent folks are fooled by Bush's "aw, shucks," attitude and his misuse of the language. Others approve of his Stepford Wife and drunk daughters (they booze it up and party while poor people their age get shot at in Iraq. Seems fair that if their daddy can start a war, their family has done their part. <G>) Others like the borrow and spend economic plan of Bush's. And others, especially here in Houston, like his unflagging support for big oil vs. the American people. And others like being rewarded for outsourcing American jobs.
Hopefully America will wake up. But we can't be sure. We reelected Nixon after the Woodward/Bernstein series on Watergate was out. Every country gets the government it deserves and perhaps our sins have been grievous enough to deserve Bush. |
