Health care is misunderstood by most people in this country.

I have worked most of my adult life in the health insurance industry and benefits aren't dropping as most people are led to believe.

Most surgical procedures cost more and health insurance must pay the higher costs. New technologies are costing more and insurance claims are paying the "higher cost" of treatment.

Some incidental benefits like Dr office visits may be eliminated or higher deductibles may be in play but, insurance companies are paying much more in dollars per claim for hosptial confinements.

Since insurance is an intangible, most people don't relate to what is going on in the industry. All they know is that their premiums are rising and their usuage isn't.

Fact is, if a serious surgical requirement was neccesary, the insurance company would be paying the higher costs of said treatment.
