It would have been vastly better to clean up Afganistan and Central Asia before taking on completely optional wars. That does not address the point that there was far less planning for the war in Afghanistan, and if we waited and planned the way the Monday morning quarterbacks say we should have for Iraq, Taliban would still be in power. Why wasn't there solid planning for Iraq?
