Browsemaster was a third party product that unfortunately stopped working after they dumped the old classic SI. it's been 5 years or so since i used it, but one cool feature i recall was that it would load a user-settable number posts at the same time, and you could set the number of lines each post would show. currently SI only shows 10 posts at a time, and it shows ALL of each post (that or just one line of 40 posts, like Yahoo). with Bmaster, by contrast, you could set it to show, e.g., a max of 5 or 10 lines per post--that way you could skip over long posts if you wanted to (or click the "More" link if you wanted to read the entire post). the net result was that it was MUCH easier to scan through large numbers of posts and find the ones you actually wanted to read. also, i vaguely recall that you could load posts from multiple threads at the same time, but i forget exactly. i only got to use it a few months before SI Classic was killed, and then it didn't work :(
