Haqi, as a child I was never a great one for church even though my Grandmother made me go. Scared the hell out of me to listen to those Pentacostal preachers stare me down and tell me I was going to hell when I was 8 years old. I was saved at the alter repeating the words that was put in my mouth, over and over. They didn't preach much about the forgiveness of God in those days. Only hell and damnation. I believe today that the guilt I carried around with me from those experiences partially caused me to become a chronic drunk.

I have a similiar story as you. AA was my salvation from drink and the ideas they instilled in me remain strong to this day. I place Spirituality above Religion but I hold the Word of Jesus Christ as a solid fact of my life.

Most people have no idea about AA and don't know that every step in their program was taken out of the Bible. Humility, sacrifice, making amends and helping others comes straight out of the Word.

When I became a friend of Brian it was because of the things we talked about in private that you never heard. Once I become a friend with a person I respect his ideas and beliefs and do not betray that friendship just because he or she thinks differently than I do. Heaven only knows that if that were the case he probably would have quit being my friend a long time ago.

Maybe you need to listen Haqi. Just move away from the blow back and just be a peaceful guy. That's what I try to do. As they say it don't always work but you can fake it til you make it.
