France has the best of everything now: medieval cathedrals, art museums, food, wine, TGV railroads, extensive nuclear power, and a cultural heritage second to none. People in the United States are living in the past when they think of the France of today as a nation of weak collaborators or rude taxi drivers.

Of course, a country like that is a perfect target for know-nothing rednecks who can't even speak English correctly.
