A change of position 12 years apart is very different than a change of position every 30 minutes... listen, your argument won't fly and here's why:

kerry has no choice but to change positions every time he speaks because he has such a broad base of voters to satisfy, every time he says one thing to satisfy a segment of his voters, he alienates the rest of his base... it's impossible for him to plug up all the holes in the dam, so he's condemed with a lose/lose situation... at the end of the day, he gives the appearance of being a flip flopper no matter what he says and comes across to the majority of voters as someone who has no convictions whatsoever... this is a very weak corner for any politician to be in, and kerry has done it to himself...

To compare the above political dynamics with Cheney readjusting his view after 12 years is hardly an honest comparison and only makes you look desperate and unthinking...
