Who said anything about withdrawing troops ASAP? The article I posted pointed out the discrepancies and illogic of the administration's statements. It said nothing about a troop withdrawal or "ignoring Islamic terrorists". Unfortunately, we cannot simply leave now that we've made a mess in Iraq. We must first fire the idiot who got us in this mess - George Bush. A new president will inherit a mess, but hopefully will level with the American people and not paint pretty pictures where non exist. A new president will have credibility with the UN and foreign leaders, including leaders of moderate Arab states who warned Bush about the folly of overthowing Saddam, and be better able to persuade them to take the risks necessary to send troops to do what is necessary to quell the insurgency and get Iraq on it's feet - and then bring our troops home.
