John Eisenhower, son of Republican President Eisenhower, said in a newspaper column this week that he will vote for Democratic Sen. John Kerry for president on Nov. 2. Interesting that the ultimate war hero Eisenhower warned us about both the gang that started Vietnam, and their successors who would push us into Iraq. The rightwing makes fun of Eisenhower's warning about too much power in the military-industrial complex, but if there was ever a man who personifies it it is Dick Cheney, whom some way was the real decision-maker in terms of unilaterally moving on Iraq. Dick Cheney is very bad for our country, though he's very good for a narrow industrial-oil corporate special interest group.
