If Desert Storm was such a success, why didn't Kerry support it?

Note: I see wstera has already dealt with some issues. I'll confine myself to commenting on the "successful" Desert Storm. At the time, everyone thought it was a great success. I would have said so then too. But the last dozen years have shown that war ended in stalemate with no resolution of the underlying problem. Definitely not a success.

There is no substitute for victory. Certainly, stalemate is no substitute for victory.

Something to consider: Osama's top two complaints against the US (in his fatwas) - the US military presence in SA and the UN embargo of Iraq - would have been unnecessary if Saddam had been overthrown in '91.
