I call your attention to a problem. "Lonely path = right way" certainly rings true. The problem is how can we tell whether or not our present path is lonely? Where is the loneliness meter?
It's hard for me, without TV, but even if you watch TV how do you know that you are seeing a representative sample of opinion? A Chinese friend quoted a current saying, "If an old lady that sells vegetables starts buying stock then hurry up and sell." In North America maybe the equivalent is bootblack or taxi driver.
But who comes into frequent contact with bootblacks or loquacious taxi drivers?
Recently the newspaper headlines here in Toronto, anyway, talk in dark black print about $50 OIL!! Then they have to explain that it is the price per barrel in some foreign dollar. The papers are certainly trying to stir up some excitement but how can we know that the populace cares or that they will rush out and buy stock?
Any solution?
