...because I know what my sister said when her husband started talking excitedly about getting one of those contracts in Iraq (he's a computer scientist).
"If you get one of those contracts you can just forget about our marriage [40 some years] because I am NOT going to spend my time worrying about you over there trying to get some of that easy money."
This is from a woman who at the age of 58 has been around the world twice, walked on the great wall of China, spent two years in Korea, spent two years in Germany, sailed the Caribbean twice years at a time, started more businesses than she has fingers, is writing a novel, is starting up a charter business in Panama and another in Belize, evacuated from two hurricanes in the last six weeks, and who, long ago, shot a hole in the floor of my jeep with my .44 magnum while I was pumping gas into it. |
