Beijing can always sprawl out like New York metro area that includes part of Jersey. That's what happens in Fuzhou and Shanghai. It's the only way. Hey, hardly any motorcycles here in Beijing. Good for taxis and buses. Metered taxi ride from the airport to central Beijing is only 65 yuan. The "unofficial" taxi wanted 450 yuan. Luckily I realized something fishy when one guy was pushing too hard and wondered why he was inside the terminal pushing for his taxi service. But I managed to find the official metered taxi just outside the terminal building, just like they are supposed to be.
