Geting ready for another October disappointment? With baseball returning to DC, could this be the year the curse is broken? Last week's Sports Illustrated was one of the best I've read. It was amazing to learn who had written for the magazine over the years: William Faulkner, Ian Fleming, William Saroyan, John Steinbeck, and Robert Frost. There were also some great quotes from athletes over the years. A couple of my favorites: Elton Brand, when asked if he'd earned a degree from Clemson: No, but they gave me one anyway. Torrin Polk, a University of Houston receiver, on his coach: He treats us like men. He lets us wear earrings. Joe Theisman: The word genius isn't applicable in football. A genius is a guy like Norman Einstein.
