grrrrrr

let me repeat an old post of mine from the football thread:

people just don't get it

I think you have to live in Wisconsin to 'experience' the Packers

it's so unlike the typical professional football franchise team owned by some rich arrogant playboy, in a big city with a monster fan base

it is stuck in a tiny little berg, buried in the farm lands of Wisconsin, sitting on a bay

it is owned by the people [the one and only such team, for the 'big boys' have made it clear they won't allow it to happen again, yet, they can't ever take this team away from us]

this team has been there since day one, when the league was forming - has made it through lean times, rough times, supported by the people of Wisconsin - 5th generation ticket holders [tickets are GOLD here]

we play on real turf, outdoors, challenged by the elements

the names connected with the Packers are Legendary

Lambeau

Lombardi

others, men who MADE this game

now Favre

we have been under dogs, the chances of this tiny ragtag team ever surviving in the world of professional football was astronomical

we not only survived, we gave the game a stamp few other teams have - you only have to look at the name of the Super Bowl trophy

we beat the odds

we are legends

and yes, we are proud
