I made good money on BEGBX but do not hold it now, though I have part of my wife and daughter's accounts in something rather similar, PSAFX.

I am pretty sure that BEGBX is a far better way to preserve capital than to hold a savings account in U. S. dollars.As I already posted, however, I don't really like ANY fiat currencies.

I do think that Canadian government finances are being managed now much better than those of the U. S., and Canada is full of natural resources that the world wants. I like Canadian energy trusts a lot. See this thread:
