I can only find a description of the patent tonight, but it says that the patent describes immediate payment. This means the data is purchased before being reproduced. The NEXUS system seems to only call for a billing number which might be put on a bill which might arrive next month which the person may or might not pay. Hopefully, this is an important distinction and that the billing number was not a credit card which was immediately guaranteed. When these kind of systems have been talked about before as being potential prior art, it seems they are usually dismissed as being to primitive in relation to the invention described . Hopefully between GRC and MEL, a complete description of how this nexus system worked in the early eighties will surface. Arnold Freilich once said that the courts would have to consider each claim separately, It sounds like they are trying to get them all lumped together into one concept that they can knock down. What are your thoughts?
