X - We were there in June. We stayed at the Grossnevor House near Hyde Park. Great location, spendy (we used my Marriot Rewards points), near several great pubs for Guiness and fish 'n chips. Walked from there to Buckinham Palace, Tower Bridge, Picadally Circus, Bond Street and then back to the hotel. Looong, but enjoyable.
While I enjoyed London, I was a bit shocked at the cost of everything. Bring plenty of cash. You'll need it.
