When facts and history tell you that something is wrong, you have to be willing to open your mind and listen to other viewpoints. I'm a Republican and after 4 years of Bush, I simply could not ignore all the facts that pointed to Bush's incompetence. However, I am listening and reading everything I can get my hands on between now and 11/2. I WANT for Bush to give me a reason to vote for him, because my core beliefs are Republican. But my reason tells me that his level of incompetence can be catostrophic at this point in the world's history. Too much of great import and long term consequence is going on right now to entrust our fate to Bush. You are not the only GOP to change his vote. A friend of mine told me in Feb. that he was GOP and had voted for Bush in 2000. In response, I told him that it was best we did not talk politics since I was very much anti Bush. About three months ago, he told me out of the blue that he had decided Bush must be crazy and was definitely incompetent, and he no longer intended to vote for him. I was pretty surprised. I wonder how many moderate Republicans feel that way? I suspect not a lot but it will be interesting to see how people vote in November. ted
