A very amusing post on APM- I think any ref to human qualities or compassion on our thread is treated with suspicion- To: +greenboy (2460 )' From: +tom pope Aug 25 1997 2:06PM EST Reply #2463 of 2623 off topic hello again - i follow the iqbal latif thread when i have time because the guy seems to make sense once you get used to his stream of consciousness style. what turns me off is the aura of divine revelation that his comments are greeted with by his faithful - it almost seems to be turning into a religion, with iqbal as the godhead. almost every post to him is filled with fawning comments - worse than the cult of the personality surrounding the great helmsman himself, chairman mao. do you have the same impression, or is this only my misreading? tom My comments: Tom: I wish you would follow this thread more closely to know that incorporation of mutual respect and dignity is not cultism- as for me I am a person of very mediocre intelligence and the art of making money which I think I do for living, is not liked and looked upon charitably by divinity and horrible cults- I condemn blind following and strongly believe we all offer something to each other. Yes, I do refer and extensively trade with a human misery in mind-that is one reason I live in Pakistan to sponsor my primary school projects. It is this element of misery hunger and plight of poor which I try to make some subtle references but that is my other hobby- raising fund for poorest of poor children in the third world- it is may be because of this fear that I could have been one of those millions of untended belies we see every day dying due to malnourishment and lack of education- this will and remains part of me- I cannot be dissociated for a moment from human misery and I sow this 'care' thing on this thread if you call this as'cultism' which as it stands in its naked manifestation today I abhore and condemn but if you think business and human misery are not to be mixed I beg to differ- that highlighting of misery is my only goal in life- I do a very little but I keep mentioning it in my posts and that does give some kind of different image- I ask for forgiveness and mercy if that offends you.
