Pluvia your point is the essence to the success of Silicon Investor and it's popularity.
On Silicon Investor (SI) we are able to cast aside all those things which support unnecessary prejudices and address the real issues which are most important to us as investors. I've posted back and forth with others and later got email from them and found to my surprise I'd been chatting with to name a few...Professor's, Investment columnist's, CEO's, NASA Scientist, Engineers and...yes a stock analyst, along with college kids, office product store sale persons and you name them. Some were providing information to help me understand something or informing me to a misconception I had, some were just saying something I'd posted was funny or was enjoyable, others were asking about my opinion or saying thanks. Now I'm a home builder on a very small level ( 1 or 2 custom homes a year) and would never meet up with these folks and talk about their investments anywhere else, not the Lion's club, the ballpark, the bar or the neighborhood block party.
SI is the place we can do this without class ideals or whatever intruding...thus we have the free exchange of information, opinion and thought. This is something to cherish and fight to keep! Because it is free speech at it's freest! The ability to remain anonymous IS and HAS to remain an ingredient to the free speech recipe! Everyone has the ability to ignore or dispute anything an anonymous person posts.
Now Westergaard isn't so much afraid of the free speech part of this, he is afraid of change...Change in the way investors trade, gain information, access the business news, share opinions, get charts, receive quotes (real time), debunk the analysts AND share all of this to the point where Mr. J. Westergaard is no longer needed by the majority of investors, therefore he perceives you as his enemy or arch rival.
The World wide web and the Internet have leaped to the forefront and displaced many means of information gathering...Westergaard being one of them...it's sad in a way, but we can do the job he's done ourselves NOW, AND there is no going back to the way it was...times change.
Westergaard is now hiding behind his denial of the inevitable while striking out against his perceived enemy, HOWEVER, he may be in the process of following the age old adage of..."If you can't beat them...join um"!! It will be hard on him because he has to realize he is just one of us, no more...no less! And the good old days are gone.
NOW I must say I have yet to see any sign of remorse from this man! And encourage you to follow through with legal action because this will be repeated (bounty) over and over if not nipped in the bud, and should be stopped ASAP! There are groups or organizations which will carry the ball should you not be able to, BUT be careful of the Hotmail email addressed ones!!
