>>He said Bush was "incredibly stupid".
KISS - Keep It Simple, Stupid. Doesn't mean you ARE stupid, but if you try to show how smart you are, you impress the smart people and lose the ones who are not so smart.
My sister is a nurse but works in administration. These days she does a lot of training. She says the IT people simply cannot understand how hard it is for a technician who reads at a 9th grade level to understand what an IT guy is saying.
The IT people come in and say, essentially, "we have this new software and it's really cool, have fun, bye!"
Then my sister has to explain how to use it.
My observation -- communication is an art, for some it's even a science. It's possible that Kerry has never sat down with ordinary people and talked to them for long enough to realize how you have to talk to them for them to understand you.
If you are surrounded by smart people all your life, you may not have mastered this skill.
Bush, on the other hand, spends all his leisure time with his family, and my bet is that at home they speak shorthand. They all know what the other is thinking, they can finish each other's sentences.
The art of explaining complex ideas to people outside your family is an art, too.
And maybe Bush doesn't actually have any complex ideas that need to be articulated verbally. Not everybody does. Artists, for example, express their complex ideas visually. |
