My best friend is married to a woman from Canada. Her brother had cancer and was placed on a waiting list. Six months later he died without ever receiving treatment. Her father was hospitalized in Canada last year for an illness. She drove up there to be with him and when she got there, found out her father wasn't getting any care at all. She was told her father had lived a long life and they couldn't afford to treat him. He passed away a few days later. My friend's wife is now a US citizen and both of them are in the health insurance industry. She knows the value of good health insurance in spite of what it may cost. dabum
