AMD Fab potential:

I found this nice cost model for those rare few who might actually be interested in evaluating AMD's fab capacity and output potential based on reality. The second page uses Intel's P4 as the example but one could easily insert Opteron's die size or Athlon's and calculate AMD's output potential using the .25d/cm2 defect density they provided here. It is world class.

I have no connection with this website whatsoever. I have never spoken to anyone from this company, used their products or communicated with them in any way. I just know that their model correlates very closely with the fabs I have monitored.

Now any fool can calculate AMD's fab capacity potential without relying on me to supply any data.
