Washington has a system whereby you can vote by mail on a permanent basis. It still uses those computer cards with the chads. The card is unmarked, so you have to find the right holes yourself. I'm sure it results in misvotes all the time.

We have a wierd primary system. You have to vote only one party in the primary. Presumably this is to avoid people pulling a "Survival on Vanuatu" caper by voting for the weaker candidate from the other party so he won't beat your favorite in the main election. Personally I think this is absurd. It would take a conspiracy of massive proportions to make that strategy pay off, and it would almost certainly be exposed.

I guess that's what you get when people get their education by watching reality shows.
