Kerry fought for his fellow soldiers, on and off the battlefield, against what the Pentagon was turning them into in a lawless, out of control war where the top brass encouraged or turned the other cheek to outrageous acts. If you dont think it's lawless look at what smearvet Garnder did, machine-gunning the family, but ask yourself "Was Garnder to blame? Or was it the war itself?" When you answer that question correctly, you will know exactly why Kerry is such a great hero. Marlon Brando's dying line in APOCALYPSE NOW sums it up - "madness" - America had gone mad and Kerry helped pull us back to sanity. It took a great leader to do that. Imagine, Nixon being afraid of a 26 year old like Kerry. Does Kerry have balls or what? From Cambodia to congress, he went way beyond the call of duty with extreme fearlessness. Nixon tried to destroy Kerry, but could never find any dirt and later apologized to him.
