He is not inconsistent. He was brought up as a Catholic and more recently, I think they have discovered some Jewish ancestry. He is basically anti war and anti capital punishment. But that does not mean he would not defend his country in war as he did in his youth in Vietnam. That does not mean that he would not kill people to defend his country. He has killed people. He regards war as a last resort. He is not trigger happy. You can bet that he will take us to war if there is no other way - and when he does you know he will be good at it. Kerry is intelligent, he is articulate, and he is not lazy. Just give him a chance. Listen to what he has to say with an open mind.
