The war was ended because the decision at the time was that it was in our country's best interest to end it. That decision may have saved thousands or tens of thousands of lives.

The people who are responsible for the mistreatment of our POWs are the ones who did the acts of atrocity. The fact that there was some truth to the testimony is the only justification they could have for mistreating our POWs.

And your source agrees that there were acts of atrocity.

Obviously no one person had direct experience of what the truth was. Maybe Kerry relied on incorrect sources. (That has also been done by the Bush administration)

You have not proven that he knew the falsity of the claims at the time he made them. And to make that claim without proof is just mean spirited partisanship.
