LIAR. The US never controlled Vietnam outside of Saigon just like we dont control Iraq outide of the Green Zone. Sure we won "battles" (and also lost some) but much of that was spin based on inflated body counts ordered by McNamara's Pentagon. Daniel Ellsberg confesses his job was to inflate body counts. He was a rightwing hawk who turned anti-war after he realizes how evil the war was. Sure we killed tons of Vietnamese, way too many, many of them inocent civilians, and also destroyed farmlands, forests, towns, villages, waterways, you name it. But as brave as our troops were and as powerful as our weapons were, we lost and had always been losing since about 1966. The whole escalation of Vietnam was a collosal mistake based on a big fat lie. McNamara admits this now in his film "The Fog Of War" and wants us not to make the same mistake again. But Bush just made the same mistake. Why we need to get rid of him fast.
