I have to quibble with this statement... granted, the first debate was very important because it's the one people are most likely to watch.

However, the foreign policy debate was the one Kerry was most likely to lose, and he won... domestic policy should be even better. I didn't expect him to win the first one, personally, but was ecstatic when it was over.

But, we'll see.
