My capital has been kept outside the USA for the past several years. It's hard to make the case that I am early given the large declines in the value of the US Dollar I have already avoided.

Debt loads relative to income in America among Consumers, Business, and the Federal Government, triggered by the 1987 Reagan tax policies, have already spent a great portion of our nation's future. Grandpa has a new credit card was a universally popular feel-good tax policy. As Dick Cheney said, "Ronald Reagan proved that debt doesn't matter." With debt already at critical levels, it's hard to believe that our total Federal Government debt has again almost doubled during the past four years.

Worse still, we are mired in a grinding war against people who had never harmed us. Many of our other foreign policies are a litany of short-sighted blunders which attempt to ape the worst mistakes of the British Empire, in a clear departure from traditional American values.

While I lack your certainty about what the future holds and when (perhaps experience has provided me with more humility) I certainly believe it's prudent to disengage my financial future as much as possible from a nation which increasingly resembles a runaway train headed for the washed-out bridge. Worst of all, the passengers on the train enthusiastically congratulate themselves over the excellent time they're making.
