Bird flu (H5N1) has now been confirmed in a dog in Thailand recombinomics.com This is similar to H3N8 killing greyhounds in Florida earlier this year. Bird flu continues to expand its host range (probable human to human transmission was announced last week). Thai H5N1 isolates also have H3N8 polymorphisms. A little recombination goes a long way.
