getting prayer in the schools

Under great duress including the threat of no lunch until I gave in, I walked through a local crafts show in Hayden, Idaho yesterday afternoon.

The displays were in a little town park between the city parking lot and town hall. I spotted a large engraved stone, a few feet from the town hall, and walked over to read it.

I was both shocked and amazed to see the Ten Commandments engraved on that piece of granite...I mean this rock is on city propery, in full view of City Hall, park visitors, the parking lot and the nearby public school. This is America right. I thought this was banned.

Then I got to thinking. I bet there is neither a liberal lawyer nor a liberal judge with cajones big enough to tell the residents of this Northern Idaho town that they cannot have the Ten Commandments anywhere they want.
