The first problem with Islam is that within it's texts are very direct statements that easily can be held to justify secular discrimination and compulsions against any who do not believe. The second problem is any tom dick are harry can claim to be the one how knows the real interpretation.

Other religions all have the above problems, but no where near the scope of Islam. The largest and fastest growing religion in the world is Christianity and specifically, Catholicism. The Pope is the ultimate single person who interprets the meaning of the Gospels. But Christianity also has it's toms dicks and harry who interpret. There are dozens of Chistian sects.

As to creating a representive Government in Iraq, all the comments about how alien this is to Arabs does not make it impossible. It means other Arab countries don't want to help.

Iraq has all in all, educated Arabs, Muslims and Kurds. Iraq has natural resources. Communication and exposure to outside ideas today expose all to all perspectives.

In the age of mass communications, people can find the truth.
What is possible today was not possible even a decades ago.

And every day, technology and communications gets cheaper and better.

The power just went off. well time to post this. Ain't UPSes grand. The power is still off.
