The facts did not come to light for over a year after that.

The Yellow Cake forgeries were known to Cheney as soon as Wilson told him. He just kept them under wraps. Blix was told about them and initially believed that the President of the United States was an honest man, but it only took him a week or so with the actual documents to know they were fake.
