The general statement I referred to was this: "When governments wage futile, unnecessary wars ...young Americans will try to avoid them."

L.L., you gave a nonsensical reply: "That might have some substance to it if you believe the judgement of an 18 year old teenager is better than that of a seasoned gov't leader. I don't. Do you?"

Note: 'seasoned government leaders' aren't signing up to enlist in the armed forces, LOL. (Even if they didn't believe they had 'better things to do', they'd likely be TOO OLD.)

I only opinion about the first quote above is that people will try to do what they consider in their best interests....
