I think one of the things Kerry did that really pissed Bush off was to remind him that HIS FATHER had cautioned against invading Iraq for the very reasons that have plunked us into a quagmire.
Poppy also raised taxes when he realized the deficits he was causing - he never really beleived in that supply-side free lunch fiction anyway. I think everytime Kerry brings up Poppy, it gets under Bush's skin. He's got big daddy issues.
