Fed's Bies sees faster pace of growth in Q3 By Greg Robb PHILADELPHIA (CBS.MW) -- The latest economic data shows that the economy continues to emerge from the soft patch in the second quarter, said Federal Reserve Board governor Susan Bies in comments to reporters following a speech to the National Association of Business Economics. "I think the economic news in the past week shows that we are coming out of the soft spot we went through and I think we are going to see a faster pace of growth this quarter," she said. In addition, inflation has moderated. "The core PCE has been one-tenth of one percent for the past three months and that is a good signal that we are down from where we were," she said.
