Congrats Henry! Thanks for trying to alert us to a quick profit.

Your post demands two comments. As I mentioned, and as you'll remember, I sold LGND in June '96 at 17 and change (while we were both still contributors to m.i.s and before we knew that SI existed, if it did). Since then, my portfolio is up about 5X, due to decent timing, investments in public companies that have collectively done well, and admittedly largely due to an investment in a private biotech. So..... first comment....... when Ligand gets to about 86, and presuming no further appreciation in my portfolio in the interim (good luck), contact me again to tell me that I sold too early. You've been holding dead money, and your comment is inappropriate. Since you were promoting LGND in early '95 at about (?) 7 when I was describing AGPH and GILD at about 13 each, you know this.

Second comment..... I have, as you know, appreciated your in-depth updates with respect to LGND. You save me an enormous ammount of time which would otherwise be devoted to monitoring my residual position. I did not, however, appreciate your spam in this thread.

Good luck, and go LGND!

Rick
