John, I don't feel comfortable discussing my religious beliefs here, except to make clear that paganism is simply the honoring of nature and its forces, the worship of the earth because it's what carries us through space, the source of life, a living entity which should be protected, a celebration of the seasons and the moment. Whatever spin you want to put on that--what there might be out there besides this planet and the galaxies of space--go ahead, it's personal for everyone. Most pagans these days are vegetarians, and environmentalists. Paganism is not satanism, and I think a lot of people who post here don't sort out the difference. I think we need to treat every creature with respect. If the goddess created all life, why do we eat some of the animals, and destroy the forest to make crosses out of trees we kill? How could Christians hit their children, and cause other pain to their loved ones?
Having said all that, regarding my trading style, since I try to live fully in the moment, I like to take risk. I find it thrilling. However, before I do that, I do a lot of research, because even though I crave excitement, my love for my family and our animals, and the trees I like to look out at, means that it's necessary to make money to float that lifestyle. It is, I hope, an ethical style of stock picking--no tobacco, no Bill Gates because I think he's a bully, no Disney because I think he's a Nazi, no slaughterhouses, a huge emphasis on companies that recycle or provide safe and healthy products. I create my own reality, so I have to be comfortable living there. I cannot distract myself like some do with debates like the one going on here, because I have this day to love my family and do good and kindly deeds, and must concentrate fully on living it.
Happy trading!
