When I pointed out to some Repubniks in April 2003 that there were insufficient troops in Iraq, those Repubniks thought I was stupid to think that that was the case. They countered by saying the apparent insufficiency of troops was a ploy to embolden the enemy to come out in full force only to be overwhelmed by superior US fire power. The American army never seemed to have learnt its previous lessons. They underestimated the enemy in Korea and in Vietnam! And now they are underestimating the Iraqis and getting themselves trapped, as it were, in a quagmire. Verily, history does repeat itself! What wishing thinking or day-dreaming such as only unrealistic and presumptuous Repubniks are capable of!!! If I am not mistaken, Ahmad Chalabi was one of the first guys who said there weren't enough allied troops at the time. But the Bushies ignored him.
