There's another guns-n-ammo running operation i'd like to read more about, that of Lincoln to Juárez, during the war between US states and the french invasion of México .... the two of them were very allied politically, but could help each other only in small ways, being both occupied ... there were several periods of contact and assistance though, from 1861 through to about 1867[?] .... the latter would be the Grant administration i guess, it was they who had to cut off contact with mexicano liberales, having received an ultimatum from the O'Sullivan brand of slaver/warhawks |
