I suppose in an attempt to play devil's
advocate, I've just been stating the
obvious and have ignored what has certainly
come up dozens of times in the first 380 posts
here (which, yes, I've not read).

Pharmaceutical advertising does create a
demand, and sales, which would not otherwise
occur. Doctors will certainly overprescribe
in the face of patient demand.

Still, the benefit of these drugs should
far outweigh the abuse, and there must be
plenty of ways to patch up the problem.
A curb on advertising would be fine with me.
I see an awful lot of prilosec ads--the purple
pill, geeze.

I do have to say something about the title of
this thread "The Fraud of Biological Psychiatry"
huh? Nonsensical! It's all about biology, right?
