I have a C$ account with Interactive Brokers. www.interactivebrokers.com. The website has a lot of detail, but basically you can trade Toronto, London, Japan, Xetra and many other markets online for low commissions. They have some drawbacks: no opening of positions by phone, they do not have all CRT tickers (ie .un) and they can be a bit finicky to deal with. There is a thread here devoted to them: Subject 32122 They're not perfect but I've had worst.
