Well, if turkeys go on voting for an early Xmas, then they get what they deserve. India has voted itself poor for half a century and New Zealand has been doing the same for 30 years [but fortunately, we started as the third richest country per capita and that's without including natural amenities and quality of life such as clean air, so we have further to fall].

The other 63% could vote in the opposite direction if they were really worried.

A low voter turnout is a great thing. It means people are relatively indifferent and things are pretty good.
